dc.description.abstract	The report reviews present architectures and standards for network management. It especially investigates the context and structure of management information as well as the information exchange in network management systems built upon the two dominating families of standards. An overview on future proposals is given. Partly in contrast to present architectures, these concepts emphasize distributed network management.
