This report presents a short overview of the results from the FFI project "Protection of the Society 3/Measures to Reduce Vulnerabilities in the Electric Power Supply" (BAS3). The main goals of the project were to identify critical vulnerabilities in the national electric power system, to clarify impacts of power blackouts, and to evaluate various measures to reduce vulnerabilities and impacts. As a result of the project, FFI recommends various measures to reduce cricital vulnerabilities in the present-day and future electric power supply. This is based on cost-efficiency evaluations of several technical and organisational measures. The recommendation is discussed in this report, based on a description of the most important trends towards increasing vulnerability in the power system and greater depencendy on uninterrupted power supply.en_GB
