This report gives a brief overview of Wireless Sensor Networks and the status of this technology. WSN is a new and promising technology that shows a great potential for the armed forces. Only a limited effort in the NbF-Grid project was put in this activity, and the goal was to make a snapshot of the WSN technology to find how mature it was. This was done by making a demonstration of a wireless sensor network with 55 nodes. To do this, methods for networking with routing was implemented. A graphical interface that controlled the network a viewed the measurement results was also developed. The experiment showed that a lot of the basic functionality of such networks is available but there still is a lot of research and development to do in the area. We might expect to see the first use of WSN during the next five year period.en_GB
