A two days field trial has been performed under winter conditions to examine two different NBC-protective clothing system , the existing "NBC- protective clothing NM143" and the new "NORMANS NBC-protective clothing" (Norwegian Modular Artic Network Soldier). Eleven soldiers between 19-22 years of age participated. The clothing was examined under two different situations: a activity test with total ventilation in the NBC-protective clothing and a activity test with gas mask and all ventilation in the NBC-protective clothing closed. The result did not show any significant difference of the two systems, but there was a tendency towards a higher sweat production and a higher moisture accumulation in the garment with the existing "NM143". The result from the survey showed that the soldiers preferred the new NORMANS NBC-protective clothing and the NORMANS water system.en_GB
