The PBXN-110 composition has been used to test the quality of HMX crystals. PBXN-110 is a cast cure PBX containing an inert binder system and HMX. A ratio of 3:7 between HMX class 2 and class 3 was used to study the process ability, shock sensitivity and Shore A hardness. With a HMX content of 87.2wt% we obtained low viscosity and cured samples with satisfactory hardness. To determine the shock sensitivity 10 Intermediate Scale Gap test tubes was filled. The cured material had average density of 1.66 g/cm3 . 50% probability of a detonation was obtained with a limit between go/no go of 35.5+1 kbar. A shock sensitivity result for PBXN-110 in agreement with literature values. This indicates that used HMX quality has shock sensitivity as standard HMX.en_GB
