Presisjonsstyrte våpen i de senere års konflikter
Abstract
This report gives an overview and a discussion of the development and utilisation of long-range precision guided
munitions in recent military operations – starting with Desert Storm in 1991. The open literature has been reviewed and
documents containing information on the usage of precision guided munitions have been studied. The most important
subjects considered in this study are which kind of targets where attacked, which kind of precision weapons where
available, the performance of various weapons against different type of targets, platforms and sensors used, and the
performance of the command and control system.
Finally, the most important experiences regarding use of LPW in recent conflicts are discussed, and some important
lessons learnt are drawn.
