This report presents a short description of Norwegian sea transport, as well as a discussion of emerging trends and future developments in this system. The report provides some of the basis for FFI’s current vulnerability analysis of the Norwegian transport system. Norway’s transport system is getting increasingly complex, partly due to a large-scale implementation of electronic components and information systems. Workforce reductions and efficiency improvements dominate the development of the transport sector. Norway is also becoming increasingly dependent on foreign transporters and international regulations and policies. These trends provide for a different transport system than just a few years ago.en_GB
